The spatial problem
The decarbonisation of existing buildings (installing a net zero operational carbon heating & cooling system) has traditionally required space for the energy generating installations.
Whether that be places to install large air source heat pumps, roof space for air conditioning units or enough external space to install a ground sourced bore-field. And not forgetting that access is often constrained, limiting access by large plant for installation and servicing.
Enviga enables the decarbonisation of buildings, especially in dense urban environments, where it was previously thought impossible to do so.
Our solution
Enviga’s innovative Thermo Borehole drilling technique uses 70% less energy, so we are able to utilise a much smaller drilling rig that is very accurate, very clean and can drill at inclined angles.
This means we are able to drill in restricted locations, e.g. along narrow pathways around a building, or even inside a building such as an underground car park or basement.
We are comfortably able to work in areas where headroom is restricted to 3.5m, and still drill down to a depth of 300m.

Optimal design
Coupled with our innovative drilling techniques, our design team will assess your scheme’s energy demand and model the most efficient bore-field for your building or development. Typically, we design a system that will store surplus heat recovered from cooling in the day or summer months, so that it can be used again at night or in the winter months.
The result being a reduction in the number of boreholes required and so a lower capital cost.
