A bespoke approach

Underpinning everything is our aspiration to deliver the most efficient thermal energy networks, designed and installed to truly meet the needs of the project. We will look at every scheme with an objective point of view, seeking out opportunities, recognising constraints and above all deliver the best possible outcomes for our Clients and the end users.

And we don't constrain ourselves in our thinking; whether the network uses our own systems solely or combines them with other technologies we provide, on a turnkey basis bespoke, efficient and cost effective solutions.

Our aspiration is to provide the most-cost effective
thermal energy networks to install and operate,
through innovative design and solutions.

What is a Thermal Energy Network

A Thermal energy network is when a building's system or a set of buildings are linked together to take advantage of different demand times for energy, as well as surplus heat within the network to reuse immediately, or store for later that day, or later in the year. This significantly reduces the energy demand on the heat pumps and increases their overall Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCoP).

Thermal Energy Network types

Standalone Network

Plus

A standalone network is where a building is working in isolation. We have packaged solutions designed to work best with our Thermo Foundation for optimal performance to maximise the potential for on-site solar generation for export; this is especially attractive to energy suppliers with a zero-billing tariff, as SCoPs greater than 6 are obtainable.

Shared Ground Heat Exchanger

Plus

Utilising a shared ground heat exchanger, where our Thermo Foundations or Thermo Boreholes or
a mix of the two can be linked together so that multiple buildings can utilise the bigger ground array, to smooth out the different times of their energy demand to improve overall seasonal performance beyond a standalone solution. For example a Fifth Generation (Ambient) District Heating & Cooling Network, linking existing buildings to new-builds, thus able to deliver higher thermal performance on the same development.

Balanced Energy Network

Plus

A balanced energy network is where one or
more buildings’ coolth demand can be stored in the ground using our systems, to then be used
on the same day or different time of year by another building’s or buildings’ heating requirement. For example data centre cooling
to provide heating for neighbouring heat
network for a university campus.
